Firm founder Alton C. Todd received his B.A. degree from North Texas State University in 1968 and his J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University, where he was an editor of the Southwestern Law Journal in 1971. After practicing for four years with the Galveston Insurance defense firm of Mills, Shirley, McMicken and Eckel, he joined the law firm of Wellborn, Britt and Brown in Alvin, Texas, which began his plaintiff's personal injury practice. He practiced in Alvin for 25 years before moving to Friendswood in 2000. Alton is Board Certified in Personal Injury and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
The Top 100 Texas Super Lawyers list has included the name of Alton C. Todd since the inception of this award by Texas Monthly. In addition, he was one of the youngest lawyers in the Houston area to have been named to the American Board of Trial Advocates. In 2004, Alton was named by Texas Lawyer as the "Go To" lawyer in personal injury and general civil trial law in Galveston County, and he was recently hired to be attorneys' fee expert in Enron litigation pending in Houston federal court.
